“Arm Your Voice” is a monthly poetry series, coordinated by Hygienic’s Gallery Associate Juanita Austin. It features talented spoken word artists, an open mic, and an opportunity for the community to come together. Featured poets will engage a diverse audience with an impactful and entertaining performance. In this bohemian atmosphere the community can gather, socialize, share ideas, and meet new people in an open and inviting space. “Arm Your Voice” is a platform for poets, musicians, MCs and anyone who appreciates the art of the spoken word.
The night will open will a cocktail hour and live music. From 6-7pm, you can grab a drink from the cocktail and coffee bar and listen to the acoustic sounds of local musician. During this time, poets/musicians can sign up for slot in the open mic that will follow the featured poet. Each poet is limited to four minutes at the mic. At 7pm, the featured poet will take the stage! Join us for a soulful evening of poetry, music, & creative expression!

Featured Poet: 7:00-7:50pm
Open Mic: 8:00pm
All ages welcome, 21+ to drink (our poetry events are uncensored!)

Emmanuel Oppong-Yeboah is a Ghanaian American poet living out the diaspora in Boston. He is both Black & alive.
