Urban Landscape: Hand-made City
Gregory Bowerman, Jenn Collins, and Milton Moore
March 22 - April 19, 2008
Inspired by the urban landscape of New London, Hygienic is pleased to present the photographer, Milton Moore and two of its Coop Artists In Residence: Greg Bowerman and Jenn Collins.
Milton Moore exhibits photographs of a “Hand-Made City”. A visual essay, photographed over three years, which captures the silent beauty of the city as a monument to those who built it and a message to those who take ownership today.
Jenn Collin’s creates a series of “portholes” narrating the Whaling City’s past and present. Symbolic skylines, evolving structural and industrial history, and personality-scapes are interpreted through the artist's mixed media assemblages.
Greg Bowerman responds to the URBAN LANDSCAPE by interweaving the fabric of the city. With oil paintings and murals he depicts people as the foundation of the city, more than just bricks, mortar, wood and granite.
