The photographs are selected submissions from a contest created by Connecticut College student Jesse Meadow. The purpose of the contest is to enhance student appreciation for New London and increase interaction between both communities through the common interest of art.
This contest was made possible through the combined efforts of the Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy and the LINCC (Linking New London and Connecticut College Communities) Committee.
On the night of the Grand Opening viewers will have the opportunity to vote on their top three favorite photographs. These votes will be considered in the final judging and selection of the winning photograph.
The judges of the contest include: Vincent Scarano (Founder of Hygienic
Art Gallery, Photographer), Jane Glover (Founder of Kente Cultural Center), Ted Hendrickson (Photography Professor), Jesse Meadow (Chair of the LINCC Committee), and Sara Kruger (Connecticut College student).
All photographs will be available for purchase. Local businesses owners are encouraged to support New London and Connecticut College students by buying one of these photos to display in their establishments. The display of student work might also encourage student patronage.
